JRS to Host Pet Food Masterclass Ahead of Pet Fair Southeast Asia 2026

The program will cover market trends, functional ingredients, formulation solutions for wet pet food and advanced manufacturing technologies, including flexible production setups, steam-cooking and energy efficiency. Registration opens at 1:30 p.m., followed by presentations from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. A networking dinner and rooftop reception will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Functional ingredients and formulation solutions

The program will open at 2:00 p.m. with 'Welcome to Pet Food Masterclass 2026: Market Trends, Innovation Drivers & Introduction of Partners.' The session will feature Gregor Woitier from JRS SEA, Peter Graff from JRS headquarters in Germany, and Friederike Becker from MIAVIT Germany.

At 2:30 p.m., Dr. Astrid Bosse from JRS Germany will present 'Beyond Fiber Nutrition: Unlocking the Full Potential of Functional Fibers in Modern Pet Foods.' The presentation will explore the potential of functional fibbers in contemporary pet food formulations.

After a coffee break and networking session scheduled from 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., the program will continue with a presentation on functional ingredients for wet food. From 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Carolin Bohlke from MIAVIT Germany will lead 'Tailor-Made Hydrocolloid Solutions: Unlocking Texture: Functional Hydrocolloid Solutions for Wet Pet Food,' focusing on hydrocolloid solutions and their role in developing texture in wet pet food products.

Advanced processing and manufacturing technologies

The next session will address manufacturing technologies and production strategies for the pet food industry. Starting at 4:30 p.m., Bram Achterkamp from SELO Netherlands will present 'Rethinking Pet Food Manufacturing: Advanced Processing Technologies for the Next Wave of Pet Food Innovation.'

The presentation will cover four topics: expanding product portfolios through intelligent and flexible production setups; exploring steam-cooking as an alternative to extrusion; maximizing production-line performance while reducing energy consumption; and examining future production concepts for the next generation of pet food.

The technical program will conclude with an interactive Q&A session and key takeaways from 5:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., bringing all speakers together for further discussion.

A technical meeting ahead of the industry event

Taking place two days before Pet Fair Southeast Asia 2026, the Pet Food Masterclass will provide an opportunity for industry professionals to explore technical developments in ingredients, formulation and manufacturing ahead of the trade show.

The event will also create space for participants to exchange perspectives and build professional connections. A networking dinner and rooftop reception at the Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit will follow the seminar from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

By bringing together specialists from different areas of the pet food supply chain, the Pet Food Masterclass aims to connect ingredient knowledge, formulation approaches and processing technologies in discussions about the industry's next steps.
